  • The ancient Devonian sea area in Guizhou province belongs toepicontinen-tal sea in character, and the carbonate deposits are well-developed. Based on the rock texture, sedim entary structure, biological rise m blages and ecology as well as facies minerals, in energy and tidal action, and the light of paleogeographical position, sea一water reference to the patterns of Irwin(1965)， Laporte(1967)and Wilson(1975)， the general pattern of its sedicnentary en vi-ronment consists of three facies regions, sie facies belts and thirteen facies.T he littoral facies region comprises facies region includes platform supratidal belt and intertidal belt,subshallow sea facics belt and platform consists of basin marginal facies and abyssal and shallo w -sea facies region continental shore facies belt. fades belt and belt, open
