  • This paper deals with the micropaleobotanic florae of the Lower Tertiary depres- sion in Shulu, Hebei province, accompanying the study of the Tertiary stratigraphy sedimentary facies and prospective oil reserves of the study area. The major effort has been made to reveal that the micropaIeobotanic florae are characterized by the prodominance of primitive Angiospermophyta, over-abundant jute pollen, algae sad Acritarch. The author has put forward her own views whereby the profiles of the depression may be divided into four stages-Shahejie Third Section Shahe- jie Second Section, Shahejie First Section and Dongying Formation. The author has also discussed the paleogeographic environments, paleobotanic landscape.
