AN INITIAL STUDY ON THE RECENT VICISSITUDES OF UNDERWATER DEPOSIT AT THE JIULONG RIVER ESTUARY IN FUJIAN

Abstract: The Jiulong River is the second longest river in Fujian Province. The lower part of the estuary is of sinking type. It lies to the west of the area along Songyu of Xiamen and Yuziwei of Longhai County. Its natural change has a close relation to the economic development of "Thriangular Area"(Xiamen一Zhangzhou一Q uanzhou)in the south of F ujian Province. So. there are quite a few subjects to be studied there For example, it is necessary to know the case of lapse of sandband at the estuary and the changing features of underw ater deposit for m eking plains to transform-the Xiamen Harobur.
