Abstract: In the Jurassic age, Significant tectonic m ovements took place in the southern Gondwana land, resuPting in a large-scale basalt magma eruptions. All this indicat- ed the beginning of continental dismemberment. At the beginning of the Cretaceous period, an integrated Southern Gondwana land was dismembered into several conti- nental slabs, such as Africa, South America, India, Australia and the Antarctica. T hey began to drift in different directions, giving rise to the high tide of transg- ression on a global scope during the Earfy-Cretaceous and Late-Cretaceous Turren E poch. It w as on this basis that the T ethys Sea w ater aggressed to the western part of the Tarim platform in the Late Siloman period and the prelude of Tarim bay evolution opened.
